I. COURSE OFFERED
1. B.A.,LL.B. (FIVE YEARS INTEGRATED DAY COURSE - TEN SEMESTERS) - (60 seat)
ELIGIBILITY: (10+2)
1. Candidates should have passed an exam in (10+2) course of schooling (i.e. both 10th and +2 from a recognised school)
2. Candidates should have secured not less than 50% of marks in aggregate in case of general candidates and 45% in case of SC/ST/OBC/MBC candidates and
3. Candidates should not have completed 20 years of age as on 01.07.2012 (22 years for SC/ST/OBC/MBC candidates)
2. LL.B. (THREE YEARS DAY COURSE - SIX SEMESTERS) - (60 seat)
ELIGIBILITY: (10+2+3)
1. Candidates should have passed any Bachelor Degree by Regular Mode of any University or an examination of some other Universities accepted by the Executive Council of Pondicherry University as equivalent thereto and have secured 50% of marks including all the subjects in case of general candidates and 45% of marks in case of SC/ST/OBC/MBC candidates
2. Candidates should have undergone a regular course of study in a duly recognised school up to Higher Secondary Course (+2), and
3. Candidates should not have completed 30 years of age as on 01.07.2012 (35 years for SC/ST/OBC/MBC candidates)
3. LL.M. (TWO YEARS DAY COURSE - FOUR SEMESTERS) - (40 seat)
BRANCH - I LABOUR LAW AND ADMINISTRATIVE LAW
BRANCH - II CRIMINAL LAW AND CRIMINOLOGY
BRANCH - III INTERNATIONAL LAW AND HUMAN RIGHTS LAW
BRANCH - IV BUSINESS LAW
For admission to the 1st year LL.M. course, the candidates should have passed BL/LL.B. Degree examination (of any University or an examination of some other Universities accepted by the Executive Council of the Pondicherry University as equivalent thereto) and have secured 45% of marks in aggregate in the Three/Five years of the B.L./LL.B. course in case of general candidates (40% for SC/ST/OBC/MBC candidates)
4. POST GRADUATE DIPLOMA IN FRENCH LAW (PGDFL) - ONE YEAR EVENING COURSE AT OLD COLLEGE CAMPUS - (15 seat)
The candidates should have passed BL/LL.B. Degree Examination of the Pondicherry University or an examination of some other Universities accepted by the Executive Council of the Pondicherry University as equivalent thereto and have secured 45% of marks in aggregate in the Three/Five years of the B.L./LL.B. course.
5. Ph.D IN LAW (FULL TIME/PART TIME) (ADMISSION THROUGH ENTRANCE EXAMINATION BY PONDICHERRY UNIVERSITY)
NOTE: MEDIUM OF INSTRUCTION IS ENGLISH
HOW TO APPLY:
(i) Mode of getting application in person:
Application and Prospectus can be had in person at Dr.Ambedkar Government Law College, Mathur Road, Kalapet, Pondicherry, on Payment of Rs.50/- by cash for all couses on all working days from 10.00am to 5.00pm
(ii) Mode of getting application by Post:
Those who want to obtain application and prospectus by post, have to send a requisition letter addressed to the Principal, Dr. Ambedkar Government Law College, Mathur Road, Kalapet, Pondicherry 605 014, specifying the name, address and the course together with a Demand Draft for a sum of Rs.75/- drawn in favour of "The Principal, Dr. Ambedkar Government Law College, Pondicherry" payable at Pondicherry
